Transporting harvested chaff

Chaff is a result of harvesting corn and other grains with equipment like Pöttinger Mex 6 or Krone Big X 1000 Forage Harvester. The main purpose of chaff is to produce silage which is later used to feed cows either directly or mixed with hay and optionally straw to produce Total Mixed Ration. Silage can also be sold at the biogas plant.

Tip: Although it is possible to harvest other grains like wheat, barley or canola in the form of chaff, using corn is still the easiest method of all. You will also need the Krone XDisc Direct Cutting System for Krone Big X 1000 Forage Harvester if you want to chaff these grains.
