An Animal Transport is a type of cargo trailer in Farming Simulator 19 that is specifically designed to move Animals from place to place. It is the only type of tool in the game capable of doing this.

Animal Transports are not required to start an Animal Husbandry business. You can have animals transported automatically to your Animal Pens, but this incurs a large fee per animal. By using an Animal Transport to move the animals manually, you avoid the fee entirely.

Animal Transports can load and unload animals only at specific points on the map, including the Animal Dealer and the animal pickup/drop zone at each Animal Pen. When bringing an Animal Transport to the Animal Dealer, you may purchase animals for which you currently have no pen (otherwise this is impossible).

The base game offers 4 different models of Animal Transports. Models differ from one another primarily by the number of animals they can carry, of each type of animal. Transports also differ by the type of hitch they use.

NOTE: There are no Animal Transports available in the base game that can carry Chickens.

Buying Animals[]

At the Animal Dealer, opening the Animal Dialog FS17 KeyboardButtonOpen Animal DialogDefault Buttons: 30?cb=20170827234847 R30?cb=20170827234910 ??30?cb=20170828002413 ?? while an Animal Transport is sitting on the marked area will change the menu to "Move to Transport" mode. In this mode, any animals you purchase that can fit in the Animal Transport will be purchased without paying any transfer fee. This can save you anywhere between $15 to $300 per animal (depending on animal type).

You can only load an animal into an Animal Transport if it is of a type that can be carried by that Transport, otherwise the game will refuse the purchase. If you run out of space in the transport, the game will notify you of this if you try to add any more animals. Note that an Animal Transport can only carry one type of animal at any given time - you can't mix two animal types in the same transport - but you can transport multiple breeds and colors of the same animal simultaneously.

Once you're finished moving animals from the Dealer to the Transport, hit the "Confirm" button FS17 KeyboardButtonConfirm Animal PurchaseDefault Buttons: 30?cb=20170827234847 Spacebar30?cb=20170827234910 ??30?cb=20170828002413 ?? to pay the dealer; The animals will immediately appear inside the transport. Hitting the "Back" button FS17 KeyboardButtonBackDefault Buttons: 30?cb=20170827234847 Backspace30?cb=20170827234910 ??30?cb=20170828002413 ?? will instead cancel the deal.

If you wish to return to normal purchase mode (where animals are sent automatically to the pen you select), move the Animal Transport off the marked area before opening the Animal Dialog.

NOTE: There is no way to see how many animals (and of what type) are in an Animal Transport except by putting the Transport on a marked animal area and opening the Animal Dialog menu.

Unloading Animals[]

Once the purchased animals are inside the Animal Transport, drive it to the destination Animal Pen and park it on the marked area for animal loading and unloading. Hit the "Animal Dialog" button Open Animal Dialog to enter the unloading menu. In this menu you can move animals into and out of the Animal Trailer.

You can only unload animals into a Pen designed for them (e.g. Cows into a Cow Pasture), otherwise the game will refuse to unload them. The pen must also have enough room for the animals you wish to unload.

All restrictions on loading animals back into the Trailer are described in the previous chapter.

Animals unloaded into an Animal Pen will begin producing/breeding as soon as the next quarter-hour mark is reached (breeding may sometimes take 30 minutes to kick in), assuming they are provided with the proper materials. Read the articles on Animal Pens for more information on what materials are required for each animal.

Selling Animals[]

You may sell your animals at any time by opening the Animal Dialog FS17 KeyboardButtonOpen Animal DialogDefault Buttons: 30?cb=20170827234847 R30?cb=20170827234910 ??30?cb=20170828002413 ?? at any Animal Pen, however normally this would incur the same transportation fee you'd pay when purchasing animals. Since animals sell for a lower price than they are purchased, this fee is even more substantial when selling animals.

You can avoid the fee altogether by opening the Animal Dialog while an Animal Transport is sitting on the marked area for loading/unloading animals at the pen. All of the details on loading animals back into the transport is described in the previous chapters above.

Once the animals are loaded, tow the Animal Transport to the Animal Dealer, open the Animal Dialog, and move the animals over to the dealer. Hit the "Confirm" button FS17 KeyboardButtonConfirm Animal SaleDefault Buttons: 30?cb=20170827234847 Spacebar30?cb=20170827234910 ??30?cb=20170828002413 ?? to receive your payment immediately, or the "Back" button FS17 KeyboardButtonBackDefault Buttons: 30?cb=20170827234847 Backspace30?cb=20170827234910 ??30?cb=20170828002413 ?? to cancel the deal.

Since much of the profit of Animal Husbandry comes from selling excess animals (especially Pigs), the transport fee is something you will very much want to avoid. At peak animal production, you can easily earn back the price of the Animal Transport just from avoiding those fees for a few days. This makes Animal Transports very worthwhile tools to use.

Transferring Animals[]

You may also occasionally want to transfer animals from one Animal Pen to another. For example, when purchasing a new pen of the same type as an existing pen, you may want to start production (and breeding) there immediately using a few excess animals from the existing pen.

This is done in the same way as described in the previous chapters, except no money is involved. Animal Transports are the only cost-effective way to move animals from one pen to another; The only other way is to actually sell the animals and purchase them again for the new pasture, which wastes a lot of money.
