Forestry/Farming Simulator 22

Forestry is a recurring element of the Farming Simulator series.

In Farming Simulator 22 forestry has became a bigger part thanks to Production Chains these now allow for new items such as Planks and Furniture to be made from wood. There are also new machines never seen before in Farming Simulator.

These are Forestry 101 guides from Farming Simulator Academy. Italic is a trees available in Platinum Expansion.

Differences of trees

Spruce, pine, stone pine, cypress, lodgepole pine*, ponderosa pine* require wood harvester, but another - chainsaw. Sequoia* can't be chopped.

How to process?

You can use tree logs for wood chips or for production chains.

Tools for planting trees

The Damcon PL-75 is used for planting trees. Or, if you have Platinum Expansion, you can use Risutec SKB-240 and the Risutec SKB-240 attachment for the Volvo excavators.

Decorative landscaping

Trees can be bought in the landscaping menu, however for forestry it is not ecconomical to do so.

How to plant?

1. Fill the machine.

2. Plant trees.

3. Watch, them grow!

Decidous / conifers trees

Komatsu 931XC

Decidous trees must be chopped via a chainsaw, but some conifers can be chopped via the harvester others eg. stone pine must be cut using a chainsaw.

How to cut trees

Decidous

1. Cut trees.

2. Cut branches.

Conifers

1. If you have Platinum Expansion, after you're ready to cut down the tree, press "O" to getting ready to cut. Then, press "X", if this a good point of view.

2. You can change log lenght from 2.0m to full tree!

Transporting

Wood chips

Use any trailer to transport wood chips. But first, load them via the loader!

Anderson Group M160

You must use Anderson Group M160/Pfanzelt P13 4272 for transporting logs. How to do it:

1. Load the logs.

2. Sell them to sawmill.

How to transport logs via container:

1. You can buy container with a different size: 12m / 9m / 4m.

2. Containers can be loaded from the front when door is open, the excavator with grapple is a good tool to use for this. Any machine with grapple will work however

Schwarzmueller Low Loader 3A

Pallet Fork for Volvo L180H

3. The Schwarzmueller Low Loader 3A has been designed to be used to transport containers, load container onto the trailer using the Volvo L180H and the large pallet forks.

4. You can sell containers to the container warehouse or load onto the train. Use any loader to load them to the Train.

Wood Chips Producing

JENZ HEM 922 DQ Cobra hybrid, the first self-propelled wood chipper in FS22

1. Prepare wood machines.

2. Insert logs to the wood chipper.

3. Load them to the trailer.

4. Sell them!

Markingspray

You must press "R" for tree marking. There are various type of marking. These are:

NOTE: while the game has included an array of colours and shapes for marking spray and has given a general guide to markings, these may differ in your country and are not universal.

Hydraulic Breaker

1. Go to large rock and turn on the hydraulic breaker.

2. Use Volvo LM 841 + Spade Nose Rock Bucket for it, to load the rocks.

3. Sell them!

Yarders

Koller K300-T + SKA 1-Z

Koller K307c-H + ECKO FLEX

Koller K300-T is only yarder that can only move logs up. But, Koller K307c-H can more logs up and down.
